April is Interview Month

April is always our busiest, and most inspiring, month of the year. As our scholarship season, it’s a time when we connect with students, hear their stories, and are reminded why this work matters so deeply.

Earlier this month, we had the privilege of interviewing our senior applicants, and I am proud to share that each of them is currently deciding between multiple college acceptances. One of our students was accepted to 14 out of the 15 universities he applied to and has officially committed to Stanford University. His story is one of drive, resilience, and hope, and we couldn’t be prouder.

We also interviewed 10 outstanding high school juniors. These students represent the next generation of scholars in our Ignite Program, and once again, we were deeply impressed by the level of academic excellence and community engagement they bring to the table. Out of 137 total scholarship applications this year, we selected 10 semifinalists to interview. All have exceptional grades and a track record of leadership and service in their schools and neighborhoods.

Looking ahead, we are excited to host interviews for the Bob McNeely Scholarship, dedicated to supporting employees and families of the University Club atop Symphony Towers. This scholarship, named in honor of Bob McNeely, is a reflection of our belief that education should be accessible to everyone—including those who serve our community every day.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your support makes these stories possible and opens doors for students who are ready to shine.

With gratitude,
Paul Bergman
